See there are things, many times, that people can see in us, something that we can’t see ourselves because it’s a blind spot. When someone pays you a compliment can you handle it well? That’s usually a good barometer of your self-esteem.
Can you handle criticism well?
Can you give criticism?
- What are your expectations?
- What do you expect to get from life?
- What do you expect to get from your business?
- What do you expect to get from your relationships?
- What is your ideal day?
What is it that you expect from this experience, this trip, this journey that you’re involved in? People that have a strong sense of self-approval they have high expectations for themselves and from life and from others.
See, a lot of people don’t expect much from life, so they don’t shoot for much, they’re not preparing for much, a lot of people are just showing up in life, a lot of people just get up in the morning and they go through the day, they go to the job just to pull a check down, watching the clock coming in.
COMPLAINING VS NOT COMPLAINING
Now, here is what I think is super important. If you do what I just described and you don’t complain about your circumstances, you are doing great! I know a lot of people who love this kind lifestyle. Listen, I am not recommending everyone to be one specific type. However, if you doing what I described and are complaining at the same time, you have to understand that you got to work on yourself. I know, who am I to tell you that?
You see, I don’t recommend you to do things that I haven’t done or been through myself. I have and are still constantly working on myself. But, thanks to my parents, I was raised into an ‘achievement-mentality’, no excuses, just work, improve and repeat. Though my mother sometimes thinks I put to much pressure on myself I couldn’t be more thankful and more importantly, I could not be on the path I am now without the right mindset.
I always say: Why not you? to people who don’t think they can get what they want. It’s not that I have gotten everything I want. But, I am working towards. I am not waiting for it.
Listen, if you are complaining you want to be a different kind of person as you move forward with your life, you want to get something out of this. If you’re going to do it, it’s worth your time and energy. You’ve got some expectations from this. Examine your expectations versus your wishes.
Some people wish they could do better, but some people expect to do better.
What do you do?
